Aston Martin DB7 Zagato and DB AR1

A few years ago, Noble House was approached by Aston Martin Lagonda LTD. The Board of Directors was planning to sell off the Aston Martin DB7 Zagato and DB AR1 and they had selected Noble House for the handover. The Board believed that this unique Heritage part of Aston Martin would be better off with Noble House than with Aston Martin itself! Because of the handover to Noble House, we travelled to England on many occasions to discuss the mutual business opportunities, demands and wishes. During one of those meetings, we reminisced about chassis number 700100, the “last” DB7 Zagato ever built. This Zagato is on display in Gaydon. Despite the high chassis number, it is in fact a Pre-Production Zagato.

March 2013, a memorable moment. The contract was signed between Aston Martin Lagonda LTD, represented by Chris d’E. Vallancey, and Noble House in the person of Kees Huis in ’t Veld. For the first time in hundred years, Aston Martin Lagonda LTD sold off an important Heritage business unit to a foreign country.

The contracts were signed, Chris and Kees shook hands, standing next to an Aston Martin V12 Zagato in Newport Pagnell.

The acquisition also included the supply of car parts and the spare bodies. Two DB7 Zagato bodies are now stored in one of the Noble House warehouses.

The purchased parts were transported from England to the Netherlands in two large lorries.

The Tooling that has recently been handed over to Noble House, over 30 tonnes of stamping presses. It is really unique that this tool has been spared as it is normally destroyed by car manufacturers. As a matter of fact, the storage costs are extremely high and – once a certain type of car has gone out of production – the Tooling is no longer necessary.

Thanks to the unique trust that Aston Martin has given Noble House, we have become increasingly involved in the DB7 Zagato and DB AR1. Several of these exclusive cars are serviced by Noble House and we are often asked to mediate when a client wants to buy or sell a car. So, as always, at your service!

As described above, Noble House has acquired several bodies of the DB7 Zagato and DB AR1. Apart from this, we have enough spare parts to build a few more bodies. At the moment, we are thinking of building a small series of the Sanction II models for both the DB7 Zagato and the DB AR1. Meetings with Aston Martin Lagonda LTD about the Sanction II have already started; we will keep you informed, that’s for sure. If you don’t wish to wait any longer, you can contact us for further information.
